Description

This season will mark the 5 year anniversary of ABC leagues at Chop Shop. Hard to fathom, but easy to enjoy. The vibe is extra. The competition level is high. The courts are flat and fresh turf is on the way. ABC referees and administration play. And there's just something about Monday Night Bocce at Chop Shop. It is the exalted league of the Chicago bocce (for better or worse).

And now that we've built up Monday nights at Chop, let me hit you with the straight dope: This will be the last MNB 4v4 league of 2019. (We'll keep it popping Tuesdays and have a holiday 2v2 run, though.) Who will be the 4th and final team to take home the Monday night medals? If we can pack out the four courts, then 32 teams will have a shot at the glory. We'll break into conferences—Earl E. Byrd and Freaks @ Nite—so sign up now and get your first choice.

Goose Island is bringing the beer specials and fire prizes. Fernet Branca is a stalwart, a forever thread in our bocce story, and a great shot to start and close your night. Also a special. Also bringing that prize glory. And you better believe we have some surprises in store for this 5 year anniversary edition of MNB.

League Details: Season begins Monday, September 23rd. Playoffs are Monday, November 4th. First games get rolling at 6:30 and the last at 10:00. The BocceDome is Chop Shop's event/concert venue and we'll have four courts with fresh turf out there.

ABC League Standards:  A team can roster 4-8 players and may use subs not on the roster. If you want to play don't have a full squad, contact matt@americanbocceco.com and he'll get ya moving in the right direction. League dues are $300/team. Your spot in the league is not guaranteed until the balance is at $0. Games are played 4v4 and your team gets two games a night for the six-week regular season. All teams play in a one-night playoff. The season schedule is made before the balls begin to roll. Game time needs and requests are accommodated to the best of our ability and in priority order of registration.
